Woman Stabbed Husband With Drywall Scraper For Not Paying Bill, Cheating: Prosecutors

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 44-year-old North Chicago woman is accused of stabbing her husband with a drywall scraper during a domestic dispute after becoming upset over an unpaid electric bill and allegations that he had been unfaithful, according to authorities.

Rasheeta Espinoza is accused of calling 911 on May 26, and dispatchers allegedly heard her threaten to stab her husband if he returned home, according to Lake & McHenry County Scanner. When officers arrived, they found the victim outside with a bleeding shoulder wound, and he later identified Espinoza as the person who stabbed him.

Espinoza has been charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, a Class 3 felony.
