LIBERTYVILLE, IL –Libertyville's Dickens of a Holiday festivities will kick off this weekend in Libertyville. The holiday event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in downtown Libertyville.

If you can't make it out this weekend, not to worry. Dickens of a Holiday will return on Dec. 11 as well.

Here is a look at this year's schedule of events for Saturday's event:

  • From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 to 3 p.m.: Santa Claus is coming to Cook Park. Your children can visit Santa in his sleigh and have your picture taken. Donations to Main Street Libertyville are appreciated.
  • You can visit the children’s Holiday Shoppe at Petranek’s Pharmacy in downtown Libertyville. The pharmacy turns its community room into a shop for children to purchase gifts for their families with Santa's elves on hand to help. No adults are allowed inside while the children shop, and items are priced up to $6.
  • From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Libertyville Civic Center will host a Victorian Tea event. Tickets have sold out for the event but those interested in getting on a waiting list can call 847-680-0336.
