2 Teens Charged In Old Town Armed Robberies

Police said the teens hit and robbed a woman, and then robbed another woman at gunpoint minutes later.

CHICAGO, IL — Two teenagers have been arrested after armed robberies on the North Side last month. The robberies happened around 7 p.m. on May 23 in Old Town, police said. Police said the boys went up to a 40-year-old woman in the 1300 block of North Wells Street, struck her elbow from behind, and took her phone.

Minutes later, the two teens went up to a 26-year-old woman in the 1400 block of North Orleans Street, police said. One of the teens showed a handgun while the other stole her watch, according to police.

The two teens, ages 13 and 16, were arrested Friday in the 1300 block of North Hudson Avenue, police said.

Each boy was charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of robbery, police said.
