32nd Ward Warns Of Water Department Scams
Thieves have been targeting residents — especially senior citizens — in the 32nd Ward, Ald. Scott Waguespack said.

CHICAGO, IL — Offenders have been posing as Chicago water department employees and targeting North Side residents, Ald. Scott Waguespack warned. The thieves were wearing bright yellow vests, and asking for entry into people's homes. The offenders have specifically targeted senior citizens, Waguespack said in his weekly newsletter.
"Whether they are asking to see you gas, electric, or water, never let them in unless you check their badge," Waguespack said in the alert. "If you are suspicious of what they are doing, ask for a supervisor, refuse entry and either call ComEd, Peoples Gas, or the Chicago Police via 911 and ask for further assistance."
He noted that any official worker will accept the additional call and wait for a response.
