Employees of Chicago-based company Accretive Health recently organized a kickball tournament for charity. Six teams of 10 people played against one another, and the proceeds were donated to St. Joseph Services. St. Joseph Services is a Chicago charity that runs a variety of programs in some of the city’s neediest communities.
Held in the fields of Chicago’s Lincoln Park South, the fun-filled event raised approximately $1,800 to support a range of educational programs for the youth and families of the Humboldt Park and Austin communities.
“We are thrilled that we got the chance to have some fun with our coworkers while supporting such a fantastic cause,” said Diana Baren, an Accretive Health employee who is also a member of the St. Joseph Services Junior Board. “Accretive Health is proud to support St. Joseph Services in its mission to serve and support families and individuals at risk, partnering with them to strengthen and develop their values and talents to reach their full potential.”

Accretive Health employees are encouraged to look for ways to help their local community. Additionally, individual employees volunteer weekly at St. Joseph Services’ sites, host smaller fundraising events at Accretive Health’s corporate office, and support other St. Joseph Services’ sponsored fundraisers, held around the Chicago metropolitan area.
