CHICAGO, IL — It may come as no surprise that Alinea has been named Illinois' most romantic restaurant by Delish. The Lincoln Park restaurant is known around the world for constantly innovating and perfecting its dishes. Countless couples flock to Alinea each year to celebrate engagements, marriages and anniversaries.

"Since opening its doors in 2005, Alinea has continually impressed diners with its sophistication, sleek interior, superior wine list and unique menu," Delish states on its website. "All this makes for a dining experience you'll want to share with someone who's really, really worth it."

In 2010, Alinea was awarded three Michelin stars, making it one of only two Chicago restaurants to gain the status, along with L2O. Alinea underwent an extensive remodel and menu overhaul last year.

Delish put together a list of the most romantic restaurants in each state, judged by their ambiance, views, menus, wine lists and dish presentation.
