Banana Republic Will Open in Lincoln Park
Clothing giant plans opening on Clark Street.

CHICAGO, IL - Banana Republic has plans to open a store in Lincoln Park.
The national clothing giant has leased a 6,078 square foot space at 2720 N. Clark St., just north of where a Target store is being constructed, according to Crain’s Chicago.
Developer Centrum Partners will begin constructing the building that will include Banana Republic in a few weeks, and the store is expected to open either later this year or in 2017.
“Banana Republic fills some need for soft goods in this area,” said John McLinden, a Centrum managing partner. “Retailers aren't doing a lot of stores these days. A lot of them are being really selective. If you get a quality retailer, it's a real plum for a neighborhood. Good retailers attract other retailers.”
This will be Chicago’s fire neighborhood Banana Republic store. The others are on Michigan Ave., the Clybourn Corridor and in the South Loop.
