Bar for ACC Fans to Open in Lincoln Park
Duke, North Carolina and Virginia alum can rejoice. A bar focused exclusively on the Atlantic Coast Conference is opening in Chicago.
Chicago, IL - In the heart of Big Ten country, a stop opening in Lincoln Park this fall will focus on another major NCAA conference.
Tobacco Room Taproom, set to open at the former O’Malley’s West site at 2249 N. Lincoln Ave. in Lincoln Park, will focus on airing Atlantic Coast Conference games and sport a North Carolina theme.
DNAinfo Chicago reports the bar is owned by Kyle Silver, an alumni and former baseball player at Duke University. Menu items and decor will both include ties to the ACC and the lower atlantic portion of the United States.

You’ll be able to order a burger with a fried egg on top - a favorite at the University of Virginia. “Loose juice,” a mixed drink popular at the University of Miami, will also be available.
The airing of ACC sports contests could be a draw for Chicago-based graduates of schools like Duke, the University of North Carolina and Florida State University. Other bars often ignore the ACC since the focus in Chicago is more on Big Ten teams like the University of Illinois, Northwestern University and Purdue University.
