BLUE MAN GROUPS TIMELESS SHOW CONTINUES TO RANK AS NEW YORK'S #1 ENTERTAINMENT VALUE!

Chicagoan's visiting New York flock to Astor Place Theaters Blue Man Group for blue-chip entertainment and unmatched value!

When Chris Wink, Phil Stanton and Matt Goldman created Blue Man Group, the classic trio could not have envisioned their show becoming the legendary, timeless “must-see”it morphed into.

The wonderful management at the famed Astor Place Theater in Manhattan, displayed vision and foresight by featuring Blue Man Group at their classic venue and have never looked back since.

Combining the most intriguing visuals with great music is a format that was made popular decades ago by theatrical musical acts (see Alice Cooper and Pink Floyd), however, in the world of musical theater, nothing tops the audio/visual stimulation associated with Blue Man Group.

The current incarnation/lineup is versatile, funny and incredibly talented!

Their comic timing is unmatched and universally appealing to their vast all-ages audience. While many shows tout “shows for the entire family,” Blue Man Group NYC is the template, the epitome of a family show that trumps all the pretenders.

While the show is refreshingly non-verbal (for a change), it takes exceptional talented performers to bring the audience into their interactive extravaganza of drum rhythms, exploding paint, hilarious sight gags and a myriad of endless props: All performed while the Blue Man Group Band rocks the house with their tight, monster musician’s that are as talented as any rock band anywhere.

With Gallagher-like precision, the Blue Men take their diverse audience on a journey that’s so compelling it would almost be a disservice to provide “spoiler-alerts.” One needs to experience Blue Man Group to truly appreciate the magic that unfolds, once the Blue Men take the stage. With my 16 year old daughter in tow, she commented about the daily amount of work and practice the Blue Men have to be committed to in order to pull off many of the difficult elements to the show.

The good natured humor that pervades the classic Astor Place Theater was on display from moment one, when, in a series of floating messages near the stage, the audience is encouraged to turn off their phones and take a respite from the current ongoing attachment to their technology-there’s a brilliant segment of the performance that includes great humor associated with our modern world and the “Smart” phones that dominate our attention on a daily basis. While the show is more than relevant, it’s extremely refreshing to enjoy a top-notch show that combines the best of old-school and new school-a reminder of better days, when we weren’t obsessed with our tech.

As The Blue Man Group mesmerizes the audience with their colorful visuals and interactive audience participation (some of which include clapping in time and rock encore hand waving and more), to a person, the crowd is riveted to the stage so as not to miss a single anecdote during the trio’s exemplary performance.

While the first several rows of guests were encouraged to wear ponchos, the crowd was having too much fun to care, as the Blue Men created so many visual/audio surprises with their breathtaking performances and seemingly endless loop of super-cool props.

The Blue Men spontaneously had a remarkable talent for locating willing participants from the audience, who enthusiastically joined in the fun, rocking the Astor Place Theater, one of the venues where a younger Al Pacino once performed at.

From the opening entrance of the Blue Men to the building of the crescendo, Blue Man Group New York is decidedly the standard that the other Blue Man Group shows tap into when setting the precedence for their global franchise of entertainment.

From the accommodating, friendly Astor Place Theater staff, to Rosie Goldman, their outstanding, Tech Manager, to Fabio Monteiro, they’re exemplary Group Sales Manager, to their incredible support staff, Astor Street Theater is a “Must-Do,” when visiting NYC!

Great entertainment for every age, a tremendous venue, the best support staff and some of the best acting and musical talent on the globe make Blue Man Group a no-brainer to attend when visiting NYC or any other city that’s carrying this outstanding entertainment experience.
