Burglars Target Jewelry Store In Lincoln Park

The diamond jewelry store Zales in Lincoln Park was robbed early Sunday.

CHICAGO, IL — Suspects broke into a jewelry store in the city's Lincoln Park neighborhood early Sunday, police said. The break-in happened just before 3 a.m. at Zales, 2754 N. Clybourn Ave. Police said they were alerted after a burglary alarm went off at the diamond store.

The burglars smashed the store's two front windows and damaged display cases, police said. The suspects stole many valuable diamond jewelry items, including earrings and rings, police said.

The store was cleaned up and it reopened for business Sunday.

No one was in custody as of Wednesday morning. Area North detectives were continuing their investigation.
