Cops Warn of Uptick in Residential Burglaries

Five residential burglaries and/or criminal damage have been reported between March 14 and March 17.


Chicago Police are warning residents of an uptick in burglaries incidents that have occurred between March 14 and March 17.

Police say the burglar or burglars' enter residences by breaking a window or entering through an open door, before making off with victims' property.

Burglaries have been reported at:

  • 2000 Block of N. Sheffield Ave. on March 15, 2014 at approximately 10:30 PM.
  • 2000 Block of N. Sheffield Ave. on March 16, 2014 between 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
  • 2100 Block N. Sheffield Ave. on March 17, 2014 between 2:15 PM to 8:45 PM.
Also, possibly related incidents involving criminal damage to property were reported at:

  • 2100 Block of N. Fremont St. on March 15, 2014 at approximately 11:30 AM.
  • 800 Block of W. Armitage Ave. on March 14-16, 2014 between 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM
This police shout-out goes especially to residents living in the 18th Police District in beats 1811, 1812 and 1813, so if you attend your neighborhood CAPS meetings, you know where these incidents have occurred.
