Cosplayers To Unite In Lincoln Park Ahead Of C2E2

Comic book legends, superheroes, cartoons and other characters will gather at a local store for a night of awesome nerdiness.

CHICAGO, IL — The family-owned store Chicago Costume in Lincoln Park is hosting its first Cosplay Night on Mar. 15. The store, at 1120 W Fullerton Ave., has organized the event to celebrate the upcoming Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo C2E2, the Midwest's largest pop culture convention, which will be held Apr. 6. Around 80,000 fans attended the expo in 2017.

Maggie Brenner, manager of the Lincoln Park store, called Chicago cosplayers "extraordinary."

“The cosplayers of Chicago are a diverse and passionate community and we are excited for the opportunity to welcome them into our unique store to get to know our company better.”

The free event at Chicago Costume will be held from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will include makeup and wig styling demos, a photo booth, special guests and raffle prizes which include passes to C2E2.

Other C2E2 events are being held at the Adler Planetarium, Revolution Brewing Tap Room and Emporium Arcade Bar.

Chicago Costume is a family-owned local costume store started in 1976. The store's rental costume selection houses over 10,000 costumes, many of which are completely unique and original designs made in house. The store also has a location in Portage Park.
