Cubs' Willson Contreras Launches Campaign To Help Homeless
The star catcher has teamed up with with others to raise money for Lincoln Park Community Services.

CHICAGO — Cubs' catcher Willson Contreras, his team and Xfinity announced a campaign earlier this week to support Lincoln Park Community Services, a community organization that helps to find housing for the homeless. LPCS, which first opened its doors in 1985, is developing a new facility at 1521 N. Sedgwick St. in Chicago.
The facility will expand the organization's programs and services, grow its interim housing capacity and provide permanent supportive housing apartments on site – a first for the organization.
“It takes teamwork to change lives,” Contreras said in a statement. “Xfinity is in and so are the Cubs, so I’m asking fans to join our team too and donate to LPCS today to help the organization continue to deliver life-changing services to the homeless.”

Xfinity is funding a lab in the facility that will allow LPCS and other community-based organizations to deliver programs and services, ranging from workforce and digital skills training to lifelong learning programs. The new lab will also offer access to innovative technology and the internet.
