Days Inn To Become a 'Boutique' Hotel
New buyers have something different in mind for the Days Inn at Clark and Diversey.
Chicago, IL - Instead of a Days Inn, the border between the city’s North Side neighborhoods of Lake View and Lincoln Park could be lined with a boutique hotel.
Oxford Capital Group - whose downtown Chicago hotel projects include LondonHouse, Langham and Godfrey - bought the 133-room Days Inn at Diversey Parkway and Clark Street recently, according to Crain’s Chicago Business.
Oxford President and CEO John Rutledge indicated plans to turn the space into a “lifestyle” boutique hotel.
"We and our investor like the residential and commercial density of the neighborhood; its proximity to Wrigley (Field), local hospitals, DePaul, various music venues, the lakefront; and of course being reasonably close to downtown," he said.
