Donate Like-New Children's Items to Chicago Kids in Need

Cradles to Crayons collects like-new kid's goods and gives them back to kids in need for free. New drop-off location located on Clark St.

The self-storage facility at Reebie Storage & Moving Co., located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood at 2325 N. Clark Street, Chicago, IL has partnered with Cradles to Crayons, a local children’s nonprofit. Reebie will collect donations of children’s goods on behalf of Cradles to Crayons. Items that can be donated include children and baby clothing, brand-new socks and underwear, books, new school supplies, coats, boots, shoes, toys, and brand-new hygiene items. Cradles to Crayons’ goal is to provide children age 0-12 living in homeless or poverty situations with the essentials to thrive; at home, at school and at play. Cradles to Crayons story began in 2002 in Boston and in 2006 they opened another location in Philadelphia. Today Cradles serves over 87,000 children between the Boston and Philadelphia locations providing children with the items they need to thrive.

Cradles to Crayons decided to expand and bring their model and message of giving back to those less fortunate to the Chicago area. Today, one in three children in Chicago is living in poverty. This statistic while unnerving, provides an opportunity to make a real difference and put smiles on a lot of children faces. How can you help? By hosting a collection drive. Ask your community and friends to clean out their closets and donate their gently used items to children that will benefit from them immensely.
