Firefighters Extinguish Blaze in Lincoln Park High Rise: Update
Several fire trucks have arrived on scene at Sheridan and Diversey.
Chicago, IL - Firefighters extinguished a smokey fire that broke out in a Lincoln Park high rise building.
CFD Media reported no injuries to firefighters or residents inside the building at 340 W. Diversey Ave. The fire broke out in an apartment that was under construction.
Neighborhood residents said that smoke could be seen from blocks away.

Firefighters checked apartments where calls were received about the fire and cleared them of danger. Most residents in the building sheltered in place as firefighters fought back the blaze.
There no reported injuries to firefighters or building residents.

Original story -- Fire units have responded to a high-rise fire at a building near Lake Michigan in Lincoln Park.
Crews arrived just before 2 p.m. on Saturday to the blaze at 340 W. Diversey Ave.
The smoke can be seen from blocks away and is visible to drivers on Sheridan Road.
Some in the area have captured photos of the smoke on Twitter.
