Girl Hit In Face With Hammer At McDonald's: Report
A 16-year-old girl was attacked in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood Monday night, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — A 16-year-old girl was hit in the face with a hammer Monday night in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood, police said. Officers responded to a report of a fight at the McDonald's in the first block of East Chicago Avenue around 9:15, police said. Upon their arrival, they found the 16-year-old with a wound to her forehead.
The teen had been fighting with a 36-year-old woman, police said. Officers said that after they arrived, they saw the woman holding a hammer behind a counter.
The fight happened over their place in a McDonald's line, according to ABC 7. Jasmine Ware, 16, said the woman "got loud" and began yelling and bumping them, according to the report.

The teen received medical treatment at the scene, police said.
The woman was taken into custody, and the hammer was recovered, police said. Charges are now pending against the 36-year-old, police said.
