CHICAGO (March 29, 2017) – Green City Market will open its fourth farmers market, at the Park at Wrigley, at 3637 N. Clark Street on Thursday, June 15. Green City Market at the Park at Wrigley will be open from 4-8 p.m. on the following Thursday evenings:

  • June 15, 22 & 29
  • July 6, 13, 20 & 27
  • August 10 & 24
  • September 7, 21 & 28
  • October 5, 12, 19 & 26 (pending MLB post season)

“We are so excited to be opening the first farmers market in Wrigleyville, and to be part of this incredible community,” said Melissa Flynn, executive director of The Green City Market. “Our markets are not just a place to buy food, they are a community – a place where local sustainably grown food brings people together to meet, shop and learn.”

Green City Market brings locally-sourced, farmer-driven goods, including seasonal fruits, veggies, prepared food and more, to city-dwellers. Green City Market provides the perfect opportunity for Chicagoans to shop and taste fresh, local produce and market inspired prepared foods, see chef demonstrations and bring the neighborhood together to support sustainably-grown food from family farms. Every week, Green City Market at the Park will include:

  • A Chef Demo Program at 6:30 p.m. that will highlight preparing fresh, seasonal ingredients from the market.
  • Club Sprouts Program - offering activities for kids to taste farm fresh food and learn in a hands-on way where food comes from and how it gets to their table.
  • Compost Program - Composting is an important part of making sure Green City Market is sustainable. We will also offer home composting.
  • Link Matching Program - Link, formerly food stamps, is accepted at all Green City Market locations and is matched dollar for dollar up to $15 per market day. This number is important as the Greater Chicago Food Depository states that just $15 per week can move a person from being food insecure to food secure.

The Park at Wrigley location joins three other Green City Market sites already operating in the city: Green City Market Lincoln Park, at the intersection of Clark and Lincoln Avenues and Green City Market West Loop, located on the corner of Sangamon and Monroe Streets at Mary Bartleme Park and Green City Market Indoor at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.
