Hair Salon to Replace U.S. Cellular Store on North Sheffield Avenue
The dry bar trend from San Francisco is coming to Chicago, with the city's third blow dry bar opening up in Lincoln Park.
The U.S. Cellular store previously located at 1611 N. Sheffield Ave. closed earlier this summer, and will be replaced with a new hair salon.
The $200,000 renovation, by LG Construction + Development, will improve the interior of the first and second floors for a hair salon, and the third floor for an office space, according to the permit.
The salon will bring the trendy dry bar concept to the area - a hair salon with washing and blowdrying only.
The two nearest U.S. Cellular locations are 1300 N. Ashland Ave. and 2820 W. Armitage Ave.
The building owner declined to comment on the timeline of the project.
