Illinois is Home to the Most Rat-Infested City in America
And no, it's not the political kind.

The Norway rat, commonly known as the brown rat, came to America’s shores stowed away on sailboats originating from Europe, and then quickly pervaded the country’s sprawling urban cities over hundreds of years.
Aside from eating, rats are also really good at mating, and if left unchecked, two mating rats can produce 2,000 offspring in just one year.
While many people might believe New York City is home to the most rats in the nation, where an estimated 70 million rats crawl among its sewers and subways, it’s not the rattiest. Now imagine how many rodents must be wriggling about in this Illinois city, which pest-control company Orkin claims to have the worst infestation of any major U.S. city.
