Koenig & Strey’s Lincoln Park Office Collects Food and Clothing for Lakeview Pantry

CHICAGO, IL - Koenig & Strey’s Lincoln Park Office will hold a food and clothing drive for the Lakeview Food Pantry from now until November 18th.  This is the third year that the agents and staff have organized an effort to collect items to donate to the pantry to be distributed amongst the more than 8,000 Lakeview residents who are food insecure.  Last year the office was able to donate two large bins of food and clothes, but this year they would like to exceed that by filling two bins of food and multiple boxes of clothes. 

Koenig and Strey will be collecting nonperishable foods, clothing and hygiene essentials through November 18th at their Lincoln Park office located at 1800 N. Clybourn, on the 2nd floor. As winter approaches and access to warmth and food become limited, the Lakeview Pantry is particularly in need of new and unopened food items such as shelf stable foods like soup and vegetables, 100% fruit juice, canned goods, peanut butter, dried beans and standard infant formula (no lactose-free, premature or added rice formulas).  Clothes donations may be new or used but should be in good condition.  Other essential donations may include toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, personal hygiene/female hygiene, home cleaning supplies, and kitchen supplies. 

The Lakeview Pantry opened its doors in 1970 when a few dedicated Lakeview neighbors wanted to help their community.  The pantry is now one of the largest and longest lived food and clothing pantries in Chicago.  They serve nearly 12,000 individuals each year through 41,000 client visits, distributing 1.5 million pounds of food each year.  It is the donations acquired from the community that make it possible for the Lakeview Pantry to assist the amount of people in need each year.
