Neighborhood Bar Celebrates 21 Years In Lincoln Park

CHICAGO, IL — The Lincoln Park neighborhood bar aliveOne will celebrate its 21st anniversary Dec. 4. The bar is planning a week-long "Finally Legal" party to celebrate its 21st birthday with drink specials, free live music, DJ sets, and an anniversary beer collaboration with Saugatuck Brewing. The bar will also launch a new seasonal cocktail list that will be available for half-price on Dec. 6.

Anniversary drink specials will include a "Finally Legal" IPA from Saugatuck Brewing, available for $6.50 each. The beer is brewed with Warrior, Simcoe, Chinook, and Columbus hops. Additional throwback drink specials available all week will include $7 Irish Car Bombs, $6 Sunny D and Absolut Vodka, $8 Red Bull and CH Vodka, and $6 Jägermeister shots.

Here's aliveOne's anniversary week schedule:

• Dec. 4: Guests will enjoy FREE 90s music trivia from Whaddayaknow Trivia at 8 p.m., and the top teams will receive aliveOne gift cards. Specials will include FREE pool, the featured anniversary beer and throwback drink specials, plus shots of Old Grand-Dad paired with an Old Style draft for $7, $4 Fernet shots, and half-off happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Dec. 5: DJ Dan Maloney will spin 90s jams in the back room from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Guests will enjoy the featured anniversary beer and throwback drink specials, $2 domestic beer, $2 and $3 select craft drafts and cans, and half-off happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Dec. 6: aliveOne will feature live 90s music from Mikita's Donuts in the back room from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. Specials will include the featured anniversary beer and throwback drink specials, half-off aliveOne's new seasonal cocktails, $5 Half Acre brews, and half-off happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Dec. 7: Funk, fusion and groove resident band Low Spark will play two free sets from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Drink specials will include the featured anniversary beer and throwback drink specials, $5 Lagunitas drafts, $5 Tito's cocktails, and half-off happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Dec. 8: DJ Mohammad Shah will be spinning from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Specials will include the featured anniversary beer and throwback drink specials, plus half-off happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Dec. 9: DJ Mohammad Shah will be spinning from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Specials will include the featured $6.50 anniversary beer collaboration with Saugatauk Brewing as well as the throwback drink specials.
• Dec. 10: To conclude the anniversary week, guests can stop in and check out Living Room Sessions, a weekly comedy open mic from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. that invites amateur comedians to take a shot at the stage. Sign up starts at 5:30 p.m. Following Living Room Sessions, Dead Comedy at aliveOne will kick off at 9 p.m. featuring a two-hour stand up showcase with some of Chicago's best comics including Laugh Factory regulars Reena Calm, Nate Burrows and Sarah Perry. Specials will include free pool, half-off everything (except shots) happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., $4 draft (bartender's choice), and a $7 CH Vodka Bloody Marys with a Surly Hell sidecar.
