Sonny Garg, senior vice president and chief information and innovation officer of Exelon, was named a 2013 Business Leader of Color by Chicago United. The list honors accomplished and innovative corporate and civic leaders who have led their teams to success and demonstrated a commitment to public service. Garg was recognized at Chicago United’s 45th Anniversary Gala at the Hilton Chicago on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at the Hilton Chicago.
Garg oversees all aspects of information technology for Exelon. He is responsible for transforming Exelon’s 1,300-employee IT department by modernizing IT infrastructure, rationalizing applications, investing in high-value technologies and developing an IT employee training academy and technical career paths. He also is charged with integrating Exelon’s and Constellation’s IT systems and departments following the companies’ 2012 merger.
