Man In Custody After SWAT Standoff On North Side

A man barricaded himself inside a building in Buena Park, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — A man is in custody after he barricaded himself in a building on Chicago's North Side Wednesday, police said. A SWAT team was called to the 4000 block of North Kenmore Avenue around 1:30 p.m., police said. CTA Red Line train service was suspended between Wilson and Addison Wednesday afternoon during the standoff, CTA said.

The barricade ended around 2:45 p.m., and the man was taken into custody, police said. No injuries were reported.
