Man Struck By Stolen Car in Lincoln Park

Witnesses said the stolen car went through a red light during a North Side police chase.

CHICAGO, IL — A man was critically injured after he was struck by a stolen car in Lincoln Park Saturday, police said. The 23-year-old man was struck around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Fullerton Avenue and Halsted Street, police said. The victim was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, officials said.

Police said two suspects driving a stolen car robbed a person at gunpoint Saturday morning in the 1400 block of N. Dayton. They then drove to the 1300 block of West Waveland in Lake View and stole a white VW SUV, according to police.

Police went after the car, and the offenders raced down Halsted Street and hit the 23-year-old man, police said.

The suspects then struck multiple parked vehicles before they abandoned the vehicle in the 2600 block of West North Avenue in the Logan Square neighborhood, police said. The vehicle was later recovered by police. It is believed that the offenders then stole a green Honda Accord with damaged Wisconsin plates, 218SPG, police said.

Anyone with information about the Honda Accord is asked to submit a tip online.
