New Retail Store, Nouveau Riche Marketplace, Now Open in Lincoln Park at 2211 N. Elston Ave.

Nouveau Riche Marketplace (NouveauRicheMarketplace.com), Chicago’s newest upscale consignment store, is pleased to announce the grand opening of its flagship retail location at 2211 N. Elston Ave. (60614).   A weekend-long grand opening celebration will kick-off Thurs. Nov. 7.  Special sale prices of up to 70% off will be offered through Sunday, Nov. 10.

The Nouveau Riche Marketplace store offers a gallery-like atmosphere and a unique blend of upscale new and pre-owned merchandise priced 20-70% below retail value.  Merchandise includes contemporary and antique furniture; home décor items; jewelry and accessories; artwork; and designer clothing.   Online shopping is available at NouveauRicheMarketplace.com.  The company plans to open additional stores in other U.S. metro markets starting in 2014.

“We’re excited to bring a new, unique type of shopping experience to the area,” said store operations manager Jon Darmstadter.  “There are a lot of great upscale consignment shops that sell pre-owned merchandise.  What makes our store different is that we also feature NEW products made by local, national and international artisans and companies.  These merchants typically sell their goods online only on their own sites or those like Etsy, CustomMade and One Kings Lane,” Darmstadter said.  “With Nouveau Riche Marketplace, they now have a physical location in which to showcase their products.  We believe our customers will enjoy having hands-on access to these unique, high-quality items, while also having the option to purchase them online using our interactive ecommerce platform,” he added. 

Nouveau Riche Marketplace’s Chicago grand opening celebration will kick off Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6-8 pm.  Alderman Scott Waguespack from the 32nd Ward will be present to welcome the company to the neighborhood.  All community members are invited to attend this free meet-and-greet event.

Special store hours on Thursday will be 9am-8pm, Friday 9am-8pm, Sat. 9am-6pm, and Sun. 10am-4pm.
