New Sports Bar Coming To River North In Time For March Madness

The new bar promises ample booth seating, multiple 100-inch LED TVs and a 200-inch projection screen.

CHICAGO, IL — Joy District in Chicago's River North is adding the "Parlay at Joy District", a sports pub with large screens, pub fare and local craft beer. Owners said the new addition on the first floor of 112 W. Hubbard St. is coming in March 2018. Renovations began Monday.

Owned by the company 8 hospitality, Parlay at Joy District will offer a "high-energy pub atmosphere" and aims to be "River North's quintessential gathering spot for the sports lover."

"While working on other upcoming projects, we wanted to bring some focus back to Hubbard Street and do our part in reinvesting into one of Chicago's staple streets," 8 Hospitality co-owner Carmen Rossi said in a press release. "With Joy District located in the bustling River North entertainment district, we felt that adding a more stimulated sports parlor to the popular concept of Joy District creates a spot where people can gather, eat, drink and watch their favorite sports teams, adding a layer of attention to boxing, soccer and golf."

The company said the new space is expected to have ample booth seating, multiple 100-inch LED TVs and a 200-inch projection screen. The bar will feature a menu serving Neapolitan brick-oven pizza, rotisserie chicken, gourmet popcorn and an array of grass-fed burgers. Its bar will cater to craft beer and cider lovers with a nod to local brewers, and offer bottled craft cocktail punches.

Joy District's second floor club and open-air rooftop (weather permitting) will remain open while Joy District readies the first floor for Parlay with plans to be open in mid-March for the kick off to March Madness.
