The Palmer House, A Hilton Hotel Announces Jazz Nights at Lockwood Restaurant & Bar

CHICAGO (February 29, 2016) – Recognized for its historic charm and legendary entertainers, The Palmer House, A Hilton Hotel, 17 E. Monroe Street, is thrilled to debut its Thursday and Friday Night Happy Hour – complete with a sophisticated blend of Jazz, soul and history. Recently dubbed one of the best hotel bars in Chicago, the Lockwood Bar, in collaboration with The Wilson/Washburn Trio, is inviting guests and locals alike to entertain the start of the weekend with live entertainment, classic cocktails and a glimpse into the glorious days of Louis Armstrong every Thursday and Friday evening from 5 - 7:30 p.m..

Dating back to 1933, The Palmer House played host to some of the biggest names in entertainment including Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Harry Belafonte and Louis Armstrong—to name a few. And more than 80 years later, the property is thrilled to, once again, offer an unparalleled entertainment experience.

Accomplished musicians with a wide range of experience in a variety of genres, Wilson and Washburn are thrilled to come together to deliver an intimate and engaging musical experience while paying homage to The Palmer House entertainment legends.

While sitting among timeless masterpieces such as the hotel’s ceiling fresco by painter Louis Pierre Rigal and stunning works of art by Louis Comfort Tiffany, guests can now enjoy the live music every Thursday and Friday from 5.- 7:30 p.m. along with bites ranging from cheese curds to beef tartare and extensive cocktail menu featuring local Chicago distilleries from the hotel’s Lockwood Bar.
