Person Found Dead At Recycling Plant In Lincoln Park: Report

An investigation was underway near Cortland and Kingsbury.

CHICAGO — A body was found at a recycling plant Monday in Lincoln Park, according to several reports. Police were called to the scene around 7:30 a.m, after a man was found trapped underneath steel at General Iron Industries, authorities said. Chicago fire officials were also on scene.

The investigation was underway at 1909 N. Clifton. Part of the plant was blocked off, and there was a heavy police presence in the area.

General Iron Industries has not commented on the incident.

According to a report by WGN, some employees said they believe the man was trying to steal some scrap, when it fell on him.

The man's name has not been released.
