Pokemon Go Fest To Be Held In Lincoln Park

Organizers are promising fans that this year's event won't have the technical glitches and mobile outages that plagued last year's festival.

CHICAGO, IL — Thousands of players will flock to Lincoln Park this weekend for the Pokemon Go Fest, and organizers have promised this year's event won't have the technical glitches and outages that ruined last year's festival. The event will be held July 14 and 15 across Lincoln Park. Cell phone coverage from many carriers will get a big boost in the neighborhood to ensure a much better experience, organizers said.

Last year's festival, which was held in Grant Park, was plagued by mobile outages and other glitches. A class-action lawsuit was filed by some of the players against the organizers and Niantic, the company responsible for the game. The suit claimed the organizers didn't do enough to prevent the glitches and outages.

Players are also encouraged to explore other areas in Chicago, meet new people and recharge in one of six team lounges.
