Police Investigate Attempted Child Luring on Larabee

Two children on way to school said man tried to get them into his car while walking to school, police say.

A 13-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy told police that a man tried to get them to come over to his car while walking to school, Chicago Police said in a community alert.

The children were walking to school in the 1700 block of North Larabee Street between 8 and 9 a.m. March 19.

Police said that a man pulled up next to them and said, “come over here.” Both children continued walking.

The man continued to follow the children and pulled next to them again, asking, “Do you you need a ride?”

Both kids ignored him and continue to school. Police said the dark gray sedan made a U-turn and drove off.

The driver is described as a white male, balding with black and grey hair, between 40-50 years old, and driving a dark gray sedan.
