Police Urge Caution After Burglaries Around Lincoln Park
Garages and businesses in and near Lincoln Park have been robbed.

A series of break-ins to garages and businesses in and near Lincoln Park prompted Chicago police to remind residents to lock their doors and set alarms, and to report any suspicious behavior they see.
On set of break-ins was to garages. They were, according to a police press release:
- In the 1100 block of W. Armitage Ave., between Sept. 17 at 5 p.m. and Sept. 18 at 10 a.m.
- In the 1100 block of W. Armitage Ave., between Oct. 10 and 14.
The other set of break-ins was to businesses. In both cases, the thief pried open the front door and stole cash from the register or money bags. According to police, they occurred:

- In the 1000 block of W. North Ave., on Oct. 13 at 5 p.m.
- In the 400 block of W. North Ave., between 10 p.m. Oct. 15 and 11 a.m. Oct. 16.
- In the 200 block of W. Evergreen Ave., between Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 18, 2013 at 6:45 a.m.
There’s no description of the offenders at this time, police said.

- Be aware of this crime and alert other neighbors in the area.
- Remember to lock doors and windows and activate the alarm and video surveillance system if you have one on the premises.
- Call 911 to report any suspicious person(s), vehicles(s), or activity near your business or residence
- Call 911 and provide a detailed description of the offender(s) including any vehicle description and license plate information.
