Presence Saint Joseph Hospital honors employee with first-ever H.O.P.E. Award

Presence Saint Joseph Hospital honored Nona Lipsit, senior physical therapist, with the hospital’s first-ever H.O.P.E. Award. The award is given to those who exemplify Presence Health’s core values of honesty, oneness, people and excellence. Recipients are nominated by their peers and managers and receive a $500 reward. Lipsit, who lives in Skokie, has worked at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital for 32 years and was nominated by Fr. Theodore Ploplis for her dedication to patients and her work.

In his nomination, Fr. Ploplis wrote, “Nona is an excellent physical therapist who truly advocates for her patients. Everyone knows and loves Nona because she is a person that is so honestly truthful to all she cares for in our hospital. She epitomizes what a clinician should be to each patient. She offers hope and optimism, and guides her patients in the right decision to achieve their health goals.”

All employees in a non-executive leadership role can be nominated if they work at least 20 hours each week and have been employed for a year.
