Protecting Illinoisans with Alzheimer's

Representative Sara Feigenholtz is protecting Illinoisans with Alzheimer's

It is not my practice to write to newspapers, but after a recent trip to our State's capital with the Alzheimer's Association I decided to speak up.

Alzheimer's disease is on the rise, especially in Illinois.  We often hear the term "memory care" and think those advertising are certified to offer this specialized care.  Recently, I found out this isn't always true.  Sometimes the people advertising "memory care" have had little to no training.

While it is reported that not much progress occurs in Springfield, something very positive did happen when I was there.  I met with Representative Feigenholtz and talked to her about the need to pass legislation that protects those looking for Alzhmer's care services.  Representative Feigenholtz was responsive, listened to my concerns and appeared to understand just how important this issue is.

When it comes to protecting Illinoisans with Alzheimer's from false advertising claims, Representative Feigenholtz is doing the right thing.

I wanted to share this opinion.
