Results Of Lincoln Yards Community Feedback Posted
More than 440 people completed a survey to share their opinions on the proposed Lincoln Yards development, and the results have been posted.

CHICAGO, IL — Chicago residents shared their opinions and insights in a Lincoln Yards survey, and the results have now been posted on the 2nd Ward website, Ald. Brian Hopkins announced Tuesday. Around 443 people completed the digital survey, the alderman said. Hopkins said the feedback process has only just begun and has promised that all residents' concerns would be addressed before the development gets the green light.
According to the survey results, 24 percent of respondents "didn't care for" the proposed development, and 14 percent "hated it." Around 18 percent of respondents "loved it," 21 percent thought it was "good" and 21 percent were neutral.
The survey respondents ranked transportation and infrastructure improvements as the most important elements to be addressed in the proposal, with parks and open space also ranking high on the list.

Congestion mitigation ranked as one of residents' top concerns, alongside concerns about new roads and bridges.
"This digital survey is just one of many ways I’m soliciting your thoughts and suggestions on the Lincoln Yards proposal," the alderman said in his email alert. "I look forward to residents providing additional feedback both directly to me and in meetings with the development team. This feedback will be utilized to refine the proposal and incorporated in the discussion at the next public meeting."

The survey was circulated online following the first public meeting about the proposed project. Many community members have voiced concerns about such a large development going up in Lincoln Park, and some neighborhood organizations said those concerns weren't being heard.
The preliminary plan for the Lincoln Yards development includes around 12 million square feet of buildings, half of which would be residential space: 5,000 homes and up to 500 hotel rooms.
