Robbers Force Elderly Woman To Drive To Bank, Withdraw Money
An 81-year-old woman was approached by robbers in Lincoln Park, where they asked for her help, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — An 81-year-old woman was the victim of a robbery on the city's North Side Saturday afternoon, police said. Two people approached the woman in the 1600 block of North Clybourn Avenue around 12:30 and struck up a friendly conversation, police said. The suspects asked for the woman's help, and when they got into her car, one of them told her he was armed, according to police.
He demanded that she drive about a mile to a bank in the 3200 block of North Lincoln Avenue, police said. The robbers waited outside while the woman went into the bank and withdrew money, and when she gave the man cash, both suspects ran away, police said.
No injuries were reported. No one was in custody and Area North Detectives are investigating the robbery.
