Ruth Page School of Dance Benefit with Escuela Nacional de Ballet

A benefit performance and reception featuring students from both the Ruge Path School of Dance and Escuela Nacional de Ballet on July 1

CHICAGO – The Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn St., proudly announces the initialization of a rare exchange program between The Ruth Page School of Dance (RPSD) and Cuba’s Escuela Nacional de Ballet (ENB), the country’s premier ballet school, the largest school of its kind in the world and the same institution that RPSD Director Victor Alexander received his professional training. The Ruth Page Center for the Arts has obtained official permission from the Cuban Ministry of Culture to initiate the first official artistic and collaborative exchange between these two organizations. Both noted for their exceptional training history and professional artistry, the primary goal in this exchange is to explore the differences in dance methodology and training, especially within ballet and contemporary dance genres, while creating cross-cultural learning and a shared artistic experience.

On July 1, a benefit performance and reception will feature students from both the Ruth Page School of Dance and Escuela Nacional de Ballet as they present a work-in-progress viewing at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling 312-337-6543 or visiting www.RuthPage.org.
