Senior Housing Planned at Former Children’s Memorial Site
Building with 160 assisted-living units planned at Fullerton/Halsted/Lincoln.
CHICAGO, IL - A portion of the redevelopment at the former Children’s Memorial Hospital campus in Lincoln Park will likely be a senior housing facility with 160 assisted-living units.
The Nellie Black Building at 702-710 W. Fullerton Parkway was purchased by Harrison Street Real Estate Capital recently, according to Crain’s Chicago. Plans include a demolition of the current seven-story building and replacing it with another seven-story brick building that will eventually become Belmont Village Senior Living.
The senior housing facility is planned as part of a $350 redevelopment project at the Fullerton/Halsted/Lincoln corridor led by McCaffery Interests, which sold the building to Harrison. Harrison has experience in senior housing, while McCaffery does not.
