Skimming Device Found at ATM in Lincoln Park

A device was found at a 7-Eleven on Clark Street recently.

CHICAGO, IL - An ATM skimming pattern has been identified at ATMs in Lincoln Park and Lake View, Crime in Wrigleyville & Boystown reports.

An anonymous police source told CWB that last weekend a skimming device was found attached to a machine at the 7-Eleven at 2619 N. Clark St. in Lincoln Park. A few days later, employees at a 7-Eleven in Boystown chased down a man who was attempting to make withdrawals with a fraudulent debit card.

The man was described as Middle Eastern with a large shoulder bag, beard and dark glasses. He was last seen running westbound on Newport near Halsted at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
