Stanley's Kitchen Closes After 25 Years In Lincoln Park
After a rent dispute, owners said they hope to find a new location for the restaurant.

CHICAGO, IL — After 25 years in Lincoln Park, Stanley's Kitchen & Tap closed its doors Monday. The bar and restaurant, 1970 N. Lincoln Avenue, is known for hosting the Stanley Cup six times. The eatery served Southern comfort food and a popular Sunday brunch.
The restaurant's owners said an ongoing rent dispute is to blame for the closure. Before his death in March 2017, Stanley's co-founder Donnie Kruse had been trying to negotiate a new lease with the landlord, but had no luck getting the rate he hoped for, owners said.
Carmen Rossi, the founder of the restaurant group 8 Hospitality, is one of the investors at Stanley's. She said they hope to find a new building for the restaurant soon. 8 Hospitality runs notable bars and restaurants, including Joy District, LiqrBox, Hubbard Inn and the recently-opened Old Grounds Social in Lincoln Park.
