String Of Burglaries Reported In Lincoln Park

Burglars are breaking into North Side homes through open or unlocked windows, police warned.

CHICAGO, IL — Police have issued a community alert warning of a string of burglaries in Lincoln Park. Between June 4 and June 17, six homes were broken into and property was stolen, police said. The suspects are breaking in through open or unlocked side and rear windows, according to police.

The burglaries happened in the following locations:

  • 1600 block of North Cleveland Ave., Monday, June 4, during the morning hours.
  • 1800 block of North Sheffield Ave., Tuesday, June 5, during the afternoon hours.
  • 1900 block of North Sheffield Ave., Saturday, June 9, during the afternoon hours.
  • 2200 block of North Sedgwick St., Monday, June 11, during the morning hours.
  • 1900 block of North Sheffield Ave., Sunday, June 17, during the afternoon hours.
  • 1900 block of North Sheffield Ave., Wednesday, June 17, during the afternoon hours.
