String Of Burglaries Reported In Lincoln Park, Lake View
Police said burglars may be watching North Side residents and waiting for them to leave before breaking into their homes.

CHICAGO, IL — Police sent a community alert to North Side residents warning of a string of burglaries in Lake View, Lincoln Park and North Center. Burglars have been breaking into homes through back windows and unlocked doors, police said. In most cases, the burglaries happened while the victims were at work, according to police.
In some cases, the victims were at home in another room, walking their dog or out for a run when the burglars broke in, police said.
"This could indicate that the offender(s) are watching the victims prior to entering the residence and are aware of the victims' habits," police said in the community alert.
