Suburban Man Charged In Lincoln Park Home Invasion, Impersonating Cop

An Indian Head Park man is accused of forcing his way into a Chicago residence while pretending to be a police officer.
Joseph Benson, 23, of the 0-100 block of Cherrywood Court, has been charged with three felony counts of home invasion causing injury and one felony count of impersonating a police officer.

Police responded to a disturbance in the 2600 block of North Mildred Avenue in Chicago around 2 a.m. March 7.
Officers arrived to discover that Benson had allegedly forced his way into the residence where he attacked a 41-year-old man. Police said Benson told the man he was a cop.

Benson appeared in bond court at 26th and California on Saturday.
