Woman Recovering After Being Stabbed In Lincoln Park
A woman is recovering after she was grabbed from behind by a stranger, put in a choke hold and stabbed multiple times, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — A woman was stabbed multiple times in the city's Lincoln Park neighborhood, police said. The attack happened in the 1200 block of West Webster Avenue Tuesday night around 11 p.m., according to police. The 21-year-old woman was walking down Webster to the CTA Red Line, when a man put her in a choke hold and began stabbing her, police said.
The victim didn't know the man who attacked her, and she wasn't robbed, police said. People followed the attacker but weren't able to catch him, according to a WGN report.
A doctor was nearby and heard the woman screaming, and he found her sitting on the sidewalk bleeding from lacerations to her face and arm, according to the WGN report.

The offender went east on Webster, and was last seen wearing a black hoodie and baggy black pants, police said.
The attack happened outside Oscar Mayer School. Parents have been advised not to allow their children to walk alone until the attacker is caught.

The woman was recovering at Illinois Masonic Medical Center where her condition stabilized, police said.
