Woman Tackled From Behind and Assaulted In Lake View

Attack happened early Sunday morning in 1600 block of West Fletcher Street, cops say.

A 27-year-old woman was attacked from behind and sexually assaulted in early Sunday morning September 14.

Chicago Police Area North detectives said the woman was walking westbound in the 1600 block of West Fletcher Street around 2:25 a.m. when a male Hispanic tackled her from behind.

The man was able to overpower the woman in the common area of her hallway. He lifted her dress and assaulted her, police said.

A friend of the woman came out on to the porch landing and yelled. The man fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 30-35 years old, between 5-feet-5 inches and 5-feet-9-inches tall, with a thin build and ponytail hairstyle. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
