A fire at a scrap yard in Lincoln Park Sunday morning sent huge plumes of smoke into the sky.
The Chicago Fire Department said they were on scene of a working fire near Cortland and Marcey streets in Lincoln Park around 9:20 a.m.. Fire officials called for a level one hazmat response to the fire.
Ald. Brian Hopkins identified the site of the fire as General Iron located at 1909 Clifton Avenue.

The Chicago Tribune reports no injuries were reported in the fire and it was out by 11:15 a.m. The fire department cancelled the earlier hazmat response.
Heavy smoke was seen coming from the fire where a large pile of scrap was burning.
