CHICAGO, IL — Two teenagers have been taken into custody after a string of robberies on Chicago's North and Northwest Sides Sunday night and Monday morning. Two boys, 15 and 16 years old, have each been charged with felony counts of robbery. Police said the teens were taken into custody in the 7600 block of Rogers Avenue Monday around 1:30 p.m.

The boys were caught running from a stolen vehicle that was used in the robberies, police said.

In a press conference, CPD Supt. Eddie Johnson said police were using license plate tracking technology to find the vehicle.

Police said up to four offenders used a black 2005 Nissan sedan to take off after robbing people on the North and Northwest Sides. The vehicle's license plate was Q817490, police said.

At least one of the victims, a limousine driver, suffered minor injuries after wrestling with one of the robbers, according to police. The offenders tried to take the vehicle in the 3400 block of West Montrose Avenue around 5:30 a.m., police said.

Johnson said police have a surveillance video of the suspects, but are not releasing it to the public as it could compromise their investigation.

The teens were scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court Tuesday.
