The woman's SUV was stolen at gunpoint in Edgewater, police said.

CHICAGO — Five teens have been charged in the carjacking of an off-duty Chicago police detective in the Edgewater neighborhood, police said. The 47-year-old detective parked her Lexus SUV in the 5800 block of North Winthrop Avenue just after midnight on Thursday, when she was approached by a group of five to seven teens, according to police.
One of the teens pointed a gun at her, took her keys and drove off in her SUV, police said.
Police tracked the vehicle south on Lake Shore Drive until backup units arrived. The teens then jumped out of the SUV in the 5500 block of South Lake Shore Drive and tried to run, but were caught moments later, police said.
