It has been 17 months since Illinois became the 23rd state to enact medical marijuana legislation, which is officially known as the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act. But as Reboot Illinois’ Matt Dietrich points out, the law is anything but compassionate.
Former Gov. Pat Quinn left office without signing off on rules and regulations for dispensers and growers of medical marijuana, leaving the long-stalled program’s future up to Gov. Bruce Rauner.
