Armed Men Rob Couple In Lincoln Square
People are asked to be on the lookout for two suspects after a man and woman were robbed at gunpoint Sunday night.

CHICAGO, IL — A woman and man in their 60s were robbed Sunday night on West Leland Avenue, according to a community alert sent out by Alderman Pat O'Connor. The robbery happened around 11:30 p.m. near North Washtenaw Avenue, in the 2700 block of Leland. According to the alert, the two men took out a handgun and demanded the couple's cellphones, then ran west on Leland.
The alert describes the suspects as black men between the ages of 18 and 25 years old, weighing 130 to 150 pounds, and standing between 5 foot 6 and 5 foot 8. They are described as wearing black hoodies and black pants.
In the community alert, O'Connor said he's been working with commanders of the 19th, 24th, and 20th Districts to gain increased police presence in his Ward.(For more local news, subscribe to free email news alerts and a daily newsletter for your hometown Patch.)

The alderman is planning a Community Caps Meeting with 20th District Commander Sean Loughran on Oct. 26 at Amundsen High School. O'Connor said the meeting is being held to assess the current crime trends in the ward.
